My wife and I stayed in Laoag for 5 days, We had booked 4 nights at another hotel in town but due to a black out and no generator there We transferred here for our last night. We had planed on busing up to Pagudpud but do to the black out we couldn’t shower and decided to stay here for our last day and enjoy the pool. I’m glad we did This was my second choice of hotels in Laoag based on the reviews here. I picked the other because of the location. The Java is about 10 minutes by trike for the center of Laoag. It is a very cool looking building and seemed like it was fairly new.
Checkin went smooth and the front desk staff were very pleasant. The room was decent sized, had a mini fridge (theres a convenience store right next to the hotel so stocking up on snacks and beverages was a snap!) The room was very clean, the bed was big and comfortable. It had a small deck with table and chairs over looking the rice fields.
The big draw for us was the pool. Right after checking in and showering we hit the pool. We had it all to ourselves and the staff came down right away and turned on the water falls. We had a lot of fun swimming and splashing under a beautiful blue sky (it had been raining and cloud everyday we had been there). They have free wifi that worked great in our room. Cable TV with lots of movie channels (once the power was restored in the city)
The room came with breakfast, the food was average and nothing to rave about but it wasn’t bad either. Service in their restaurant was very good. It has a really fun atmosphere. They have tennis courts, a rock climbing wall and even though it is located on a main road once inside it feels like a resort. They did a good job in the layout. The pool area feels very private and the views from the rear of the hotel are beautiful.
If I remember right we paid about P2,000 for the evening and we used their van to transfer to the airport (I remember it being kind of pricey but they let us stay in the room until after 3pm with no additional fee).
All in all this is great place to stay especially if bringing kids and if you are driving in. If you are flying in to Laoag though, it will be an adventure as there are no cabs just trikes and a few jeepneys (that are usually full).
My Rating: EXCELLENT
(modern clean & fun hotel)
